What's the best and worst advice you ever received? Did you follow it even if it ran counter to your gut intuition? How did it turn out?

My best aunt told me to "never let a guy know where he has you." I think that's a pretty good advice...

I don't think I ever have, actually. When I get mad I just scream at them in my head, and that usually works pefectly fine. I also have a poster just beside my door that says "If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred regrets." I think I've gotten it uncontiously drilled into my head to keep calm.
